The Cafesjian Center for the Arts and Beeline Launch ''DesignLab: Chairs'' Joint Educational Program
May 10, 2019, Yerevan. Within the scope of the events dedicated to the 10th Anniversary of the Cafesjian Center for the Arts (CCA), the Center announced the launch of ''DesignLab: Chairs'' educational project on May 10. This project, designed for schoolchildren over the age of 11 and their families, is implemented with the support of Beeline. It aims to foster participants’ creative thinking, develop their design skills, and familiarize them with the main peculiarities of applied arts.
One of the most useable household items, the chair, has been chosen as an applied arts sample. The program participants will first explore the unique chairs from the Gerard L. Cafesjian Collection exhibited at the Center's Escalator Gallery and then will depict their own design chair with the help of young designers at the CCA Creativity Hall.
''Attaching a special significance to the role of museum education, the Cafesjian Center for the Arts has implemented numerous educational programs over the last decade. We are glad that the list of our ongoing educational programs was supplemented with one more. It is noteworthy that not only teens, but also their families can register for ''DesignLab: Chairs.'' We extend special gratitude to our long-term partner Beeline for the support in the implementation of this program,'' stated CCA Acting Executive Director Vahagn Marabyan.
"We always highly appreciate the projects of the Cafesjian Center for the Arts. I believe, they are very good examples of implementing modern educational approaches. They give our youth the opportunity to develop and make steps in their career in arts. We are happy to be part of this kind of initiatives and provide our bright youngsters with the opportunity to create", - mentioned Beeline Armenia CEO Andrey Pyatakhin.
Beeline and the Cafesjian Center for the Arts have been cooperating since 2011. In the frames of this long-term cooperation, teen, family and other educational programs with a focus on children's and teenagers' aesthetic education are regularly implemented at the Center.
