Co-founder of Granatus Ventures, Manuk Hergnyan, becomes the next guest of a number of Starthub Offline discussion-meetings, held with support of Beeline.

6 December, 2018, Yerevan: As part of StartHub Armenia project, implemented by Beeline together with the Technological Development Center fund, a regular meeting-discussion of Starthub Offline was held. StartHub Offline is a series of events, where startup representatives meet and have discussions with IT market leaders.

The meeting was called “Startups and Investments”, and Manuk Hergnyan was the speaker, who is the co-founder and managing partner of Granatus Ventures. Granatus Ventures is the first venture company in Armenia that finances startups at an early stage. Manuk Hergnyan is also the founder and managing partner of the consulting firm EV Consulting, operating in Yerevan and Moscow. Manuk Hergnyan is a member of councils in a number of high-tech companies. These companies include, in particular, the Menu Group, pharmaceutical company Liquor. He is also a member of public and non-profit organizations, such as the Union of Advanced Technology Enterprise and the Armenia Microsoft Innovation Center. Hergnyan studied at Oxford University, at state universities in Yerevan and in Moscow.

During the meeting, he spoke about the Granatus Ventures Fund, investments in Armenian startups, startup ecosystems, preferred areas of investment and other topics.

Summing up on the topic, Manuk Hergnyan noted that 2018 is a turning point for Armenia from the point of view of venture investments, and provides good prerequisites for further development. It is a historic year in the sense that some Armenian start-ups will carry out outdoor operations.

“Attracting investments is one of the main goals for any startup. However, the most important thing in the search for investment is not the funds and their amount, but it is extremely important to find a partner who will assist in ensuring the quality progress of the startup.

“Today we had an opportunity to listen to a person who was at the foundation of Armenian start-ups venture investment and financing processes development. Manuk Hergnyan’s speech is extremely useful and instructive for Armenian startups that have started their difficult path to success. I am convinced that today they have learned a lot,” said Chairman of the Board of the Technological Development Center fund Samvel Chakhalyan.

"Our regular Starthub Offline meeting will help Armenian startups to get an idea of ​​preferred  investment areas, and that will contribute to more rapid project development. I hope that startups will take into consideration the experts’ opinions for making their projects more attractive and useful to society," said Beeline Armenia CEO Andrey Pyatakhin.
